Joining the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra in the annual Hong Kong Drum Festival are some of the world’s best-known percussionists. Iranian soloist Mohammad Reza Mortazavi, known to have “the fastest fingers in the world”, will be headlining the festival, performing the improvisatory piece Solo on Tombak and Daf and the self-composed Song of Abandon. The festival also presents excerpts from the percussion concerto The Age of the Dragon by Luk Kin Bun and Huang Hsuan-ning. The grand finale will see audience members joining in.
